It takes a lot of hard work to get noticed in the electronic music community and doing it without being just another sound alike artists that gets laughed at and ridiculed. If you are up to the challenge….Gary Wood are waiting to rock your face off.
Gary Wood is a Tech House and Techno music producer/DJ living in Portsmouth UK and is signed to Household Digital. He started DJing with vinyl in 2000 and won a Radio 1 Best DJ Competition in 2002. He loves searching for old techno and house vinyl records as well as finding new artists online.
He maintains a strong signature sound that is electronic, quirky, and bouncy, with a consistent groove which is tailored towards a more sophisticated and underground crowd who go to Ibiza, Berlin, Warehouse parties ,etc.
He is at his best playing at peak time sets and has experience playing larger venues such as The End, Ministry of Sound and The Egg. He knows that the reason people go to parties is to dance and have fun and is always the last one to leave!
On one hand he loves locking himself away in his studio making electronic music using a mixture of vintage analogue machines and digital software. On the other hand, he yearns for being out, away from the computer, playing vinyl, using Technics 1210s, getting back to the kind of DJing that got him started in the first place.
Either way as he moves forward, he wants to focus on new technologies, not only with making music, but with DJing and performing live as well. He is grateful to be doing music for a living!
